The 39th Kentuck Festival of the Arts is now accepting artist applications submitted by June 1, 2010. Kentuck, which will be held October 16 and 17 at Kentuck Park in Northport, Ala., is an outdoor, juried show open to all media. The application is online at www.zapplication.org.
More than $5,000 in awards will be presented and an additional $20,000 presented to artists through the Patrons Purchase Award Program. Approximately 280 10-by-12 foot booths are available. Artist amenities include an artist hospitality tent, volunteer booth sitters, drive-up unloading, Visa/Mastercard processing and an artist party. Along with 280 spaces for juried artists’ exhibits, Kentuck features educational demonstrations, children’s activities, musical entertainment, and food concessions.
Kentuck is listed as a must-see show for collectors and a Top Ten Art Festival by American Style magazine. National Geographic and the Appalachian Regional Commission have previously selected Kentuck Festival of the Arts as a featured event. Selected for years as one of the Top Twenty Events in the Southeast Tourism Society and presented with an Alabama Governor's Arts Award, Kentuck annually hosts more than 15,000 visitors.
