VFW Post 6022 and Ladies Auxiliary are hosting a Horseshoes & Hotdogs Fund Raising event at the Post on Saturday,10 April 2010 starting at 12:00 noon at the Pavilion.
There will be a Horseshoe Tournament: 2 person teams; $5.00 entry fee per person: 1st Place Team Prize - $50.00/person; 2nd Place Team Prize - $25.00/person; 3rd Place Team Prize - $10.00/person. Hot Dogs w/trimmings - $1.00; Karaoke entertainment
Proceeds from this event will go to the VFW Post 6022 program funds for our veterans assistance and community service programs.. Come on out and help us raise funds for our Post Home.

Kentuck announces Sheep to Shawl demonstrations by the West Alabama Fiber Guild April 10, 2010 from 10am to 2pm in the Kentuck Courtyard.
Kentuck invites the community to the Kentuck Courtyard for free demonstrations of historic fiber techniques such as shearing a sheep, carding the fleece, and weaving an original shawl.
The courtyard will also feature cob oven goodies such as fresh bread, pizzas, and baked vegetables.
Take home your very own hand-made Kentuck for Kids sheep doll. Kentuck encourages participants of all ages to assemble, embellish, and take home their very own sheep made of yarn. The Kentuck for Kids activity is sponsored by Serendipity Needleworks (www.serendipityneedleworks.com).
The rain date for the Sheep to Shawl event is April 24, 2010.
