Event Description:
Former UA Golf Course Parking Lot Sunday, April 11, 2010, 1 – 4pm
The Friends of The University of Alabama Arboretum will hold their annual Spring Plant Sale on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 1p.m. until 4p.m. Members of the Friends organization will be admitted at 12 noon along with those patrons who wish to join the organization at that time. The sale will take place in the parking lot of the former UA Golf Course, located at the intersection of Veteran’s Memorial Parkway and Loop Road. Plants for both beds and containers will be available for sale including annuals, perennials, biennials, natives, vegetables and herbs. A large selection of hard-to-find tomatoes and unique peppers -including heirloom varieties- will be offered that are rarely available locally. All the plants are chosen for their color, vigor and potential for presentation in the Southern garden setting. In addition to the plants, volunteers will be available for great gardening advice. All proceeds will benefit The University of Alabama Arboretum.
