Business Review by: Austin from Northport, AL on Thursday June 30th 2011 at 04:40:40 PM Never use this company, they will try to take advantage of you! - TUSCALOOSA, AL Businesses 1 Overall My AC stopped working a few days ago so I called Banks Quarles to come look at it, they told me how much it would cost to send someone out to diagnose the problem and I gave them the go ahead to send someone. Their technician figured out that my condenser had gone out and quoted me a pretty pricey figure to replace it, but I agreed to the price and paid him the down payment. The next morning, he calls me back and says that he messed the quote up yesterday and it is going to cost me $1700 more. I told him that was not ok and that I would like to have my down payment, minus the cost for him coming out, refunded back to me. He apologized for messing up and agreed to pay it back. Since I was at work, I had my wife go pick it up. They refused to give her all the money back. They charged us almost three times what I was told it would cost for them to diagnose my problem. When she told them that wasn't the right amount they were very rude to her, and even threatened to charge her more! On top of all this, the company that I found to replace them is charging us significantly less to fix it. What a rip off! Quick Positive: They arrived at the scheduled time.
