Tuscaloosa Music

The Tuscaloosa music scene is a wide and varied scene.

The rock/club scene as reported by reliable sources from the scene itself is as follows:

Our journey starts around 1990. This was our interviewee's senior year in High School. There was Bentley Tock and the Stone Orphans who played where the Legacy was (Now it's Rounders).  These bands played original college rock. Around '93 the music scene started to change. The Chukker produced a unique brand of rock. The Chukker pulled in all kinds of great rock music. You could go in and see a punk band one night, college alernative, country, bluegrass, ska and more. Some of the more notable bands that played at the Chukker were the excellent Sublime, Rev. Horton Heat, and many more. Shead also played in Tuscaloosa.
